I’m wondering how her parents could not notice all her sea stuff… or allow her to have it if they have noticed it. XD;
Perhaps that just means her mother has seen a necklace like hers before and has an idea where it _really_ came from. The seashell adornments in her room are easily scavenged from a beach without going in the water.
Did Mom used to have a mer-friend? Or, did she used to be a mermaid? Or, am I fishing for too much backstory?
